Pump It!

Dear Parents/ Carers,

We are writing to inform you of an exciting opportunity that has been presented to our Year 13 students.

The entrepreneur and star of Dragon’s Den, Peter Jones CBE, holds a competition each year called ‘Tycoons in Schools’ to give young people the experience of running a business. This free national enterprise competition aims to support and encourage budding entrepreneurs in the UK. Schools compete head to head across the country with the focus of creating and selling a product within 6 weeks.

We have identified a problem that affects many individuals each day and we have incorporated this into our product. 844 million individuals across the world do not have access to clean, safe water. Through our own research and the need to help others, we were inspired to create our own brand of bottled water called ‘PumpIt!’.

‘PumpIt!’ is no regular bottle of water. Our goal is to ‘Help the world, one bottle at a time’. 50% of our profits from every single bottle we sell will be donated to WaterAid with us seeking to raise £2,030 as part of ‘Everyone, Everywhere’ 2030 challenge. The money we raise, as part of Water Aids challenge, will go towards building a pump for a school in a developing country so children like your daughter and us, can have access to safe water.

How can you help us to help them? Our bottled water will be sold in The Copteen at break and lunch, from the 31st of October until the 15th of December.

During this six-week period, we hope you and your daughter buy our water and help support children who cannot help themselves. Our water bottles can be purchased through Parentpay and paid for in advance, and later collected from The Copteen (where they will be sold). The bottles can be bought in bulk where you can buy 30 bottles for £15.00 where each bottle costs 60p. This would mean that you would be saving a total of £9.00 when buying our water in contrast to the water sold in The Copteen now.

15 bottles can be paid for in advance for the price of £10.50. Alternatively, our bottles can be bought using cash on the day at a price of 70p.

Thank you in advance and we hope you decide to support our cause in ensuring all children around the world have access to clean water.

Yours Sincerely,

Team PumpIt!
