Welcome from Head of Sixth Form
Welcome to Copthall School Sixth Form.
I am delighted to welcome you to the Sixth Form pages of our website. Here at Copthall our students receive a fantastic education focussed on building the skills to ensure that each one of our students leaves us as aspirational, responsible and fulfilled young women.
The challenges of an unprecedented year did not phase our students and they rose to the challenge and were thrilled to discover they had been awarded top grades in their A-levels with nearly 70% of students securing places at their first choice universities. Nearly 22% of students will progress to prestigious Russell Group Universities to study law and Biomedical sciences amongst others.
A*-B grades account for 56% of all grades compared to 39% in 2019
A*-C grades account for 82% of all grades compared to 74% in 2019
A*-E grades account for 100% of all grades equal to 100% in 2019
With us at Copthall we have 5 core Values that our young women embody.
Equality for all
Support and Safety
We hope that you will join us in celebrating these Values when you join our community.
Here at Copthall you will receive an education that delivers high quality academic education and excellent outcomes. We have access to a fully formed pastoral team, who get to know you and support you throughout the challenges of preparing for A levels, vocational pathways, university and then the world of work.
We have a dedicated Careers Advisor who works with you individually to ensure that you get the most up to date and personal advice on how to achieve your chosen career. Offering a range of opportunities with our parent schools and nationwide business links. Our opportunities for you are wide ranging, for example, all Year 12 students take part in a work experience programme for a week in June or July. Our previous employers have included Financial, Health, Education and Law firms such as UBS, eBay, Home Office, Royal Free Hospital, University College London Hospital, UBS, Wilson Wright, Moorfield Eye Hospital, Primary Schools, local nurseries, Boots, Ecoworld, Elysium Healthcare, Evershed Sutherland, Grower Freeman, Hoffman Bokaei, Mill Hill Dental Practice and many more
We value developing your wider skills and having fun at the same time. With an enrichment hour timetabled every fortnight in year 12 we make sure that you have access to holistic education and experiences by working with groups like the Women’s Institute, Hertfordshire University and Pearson Education.
We have excellent facilities, which include our own cafe in the Sixth Form Centre, signing out privileges and relaxed dress on a Friday allowing for the perfect transition between school and higher education.
Leadership opportunities are wide ranging and promise to develop you as young leaders of tomorrow. These include the opportunity to become our Head or one of the Deputy Head girls, alongside Senior Prefect roles and an array of other opportunities.
We have an exhilarating and unique partnership with Mill Hill Independent School, which offers a range of opportunities from trips, talks and academic challenges to joint school events.
We also benefit from professional links with Salesforce, Barry M, Royal Ballet Company, The Department for Work and Pensions and London & Quadrant, alongside hosting numerous visitors from companies all over London and the UK. This enables our young women to benefit from real world experience and to conduct the most poignant research needed to make the best choices for your next steps.
