World Book Day

Lib1

Copthall School had a brilliant virtual celebration of World Book Day!

Our two competitions were very popular and we had lots of entries. The online choose-your-own adventure puzzle was won by Meerab N. in 8T; second prize went to Fatima A.M in 13T and third prize to Hannah S. in 7P.

It was incredibly difficult to choose the winner of the toilet-roll book character competition – there were so many fantastic entries! But a decision had to be made, and first prize went to Katriel L.P. in 9P for her delightful Little Red Riding Hood ensemble – the trees and bushes were a brilliant thought. Tomika M. 8T won second prize and Farhana D. 9P third.

As well as the competitions, our Y9-13 students were able to join Yasmin Rahman, author of ‘All the things we never said’ for an online talk about her life as a writer. Yasmin was a wonderful speaker and the students really enjoyed her talk – and an insight into her typical day (lots of Tik-tok!).

Students all received digital World Book Day book tokens and many also took advantage of the free copies available from the library.
