Jack Petchey Speak Out Challenge - The Copthall Way

Posted on: 24/06/2025

On Tuesday 10th of June, I had the pleasure and privilege of facilitating the Jack Petchey Workshop for thirty of our Year 10 students. It was a day filled with positivity, growth, and celebration from start to finish. I was so proud to witness how our students rose to the occasion and embodied the Copthall Way throughout the day!

What stood out most to me was the way all students who took part in the workshop showed empathy, resilience, and a willingness to grow. I saw women of tomorrow supporting one another, listening with care, stepping outside of their comfort zones and showcasing their ideas with increasing confidence. It was a powerful reminder of just how capable they are when given the opportunity to express themselves and lead.

Of course, a special congratulations and shout out goes to our four winners: Kalwa, Maya, Syrine, and Marie. They truly reflected our school values of responsibility, school safety, aspiration and equality for all. Their resilience, kindness, and commitment to making a difference in our school community made them stand out as role models.

It was an honour to facilitate such a special day. Well done to every single student involved; you made it an unforgettable day!

May you all use the skills you have honed for the Year 11 spoken word assessment and beyond!

Keep shining,

Ms Sarrafan
