Year 10 Netball League A Strong Start to the Season

Copthall’s Year 10 netball team made a fantastic start to their league campaign on Tuesday 22nd September, taking on four schools in a busy evening of fixtures. The team showed excellent teamwork, determination and resilience throughout, securing three wins from four matches.

The first game saw Copthall face SMSJ, and the team could not have asked for a better start. A dominant performance at both ends of the court resulted in an impressive 9-0 victory, with Copthall preventing their opponents from scoring.

Next up was MHCH. Copthall continued their strong form, producing another confident display to secure a 9-4 win. The team worked well together across the court and maintained their momentum from the opening fixture.

The third match was against King Alfred’s and proved to be Copthall’s toughest contest of the evening. Despite battling hard throughout, Copthall were defeated 12-7 by a strong King Alfred’s side.

Copthall responded brilliantly in their final game against Hasmonean. Rather than allowing the previous result to affect them, the team finished the evening in style with an emphatic 15-5 victory.

Overall, Copthall finished the round with an excellent record of three wins and one loss, scoring 40 goals and conceding just 21 across their four matches. It was a very positive opening round of league fixtures, with plenty for the team to build on as the season progresses.
