Barcelona - March 2026

Posted on: 16/03/2026

30 students visited Barcelona last week. It was a unique opportunity to experience the high-energy blend of Mediterranean culture, world-class art, and unique architecture that turns this city into an open-air classroom. Students were able to learn about the work of the great Catalan artist Gaudí when they visited the Sagrada Familia Basílica and Park Guell. They also visited the Barcelona FC museum. The contrast between those two visits is what makes Barcelona so great for students—one moment we were standing under the "stone forest" of Gaudí’s vaulted ceilings at the Sagrada Família, and the next we were immersed in the high-tech, trophy-filled world of the Barça Museum at Camp Nou.

We also had a cooking lesson on the second day. Students learned how to cook “Paella” and “Gazpacho.” On our last day we went for a walk in “Port Vale” and “la Barceloneta” beach where we dipped our feet in the mediterranean. Mixing culinary skills like mastering the perfect paella with a visit to the Barceloneta beach is the quintessential Barcelona experience. Our students had a fantastic time, and they will remember this trip in the future.

A big thank you to all the staff in the school and parents who made this trip possible.

Adiós!
