Bringing History to Life: GCSE Historians Visit Kenilworth Castle
Posted on: 06/10/2026
In September, our Year 11 GCSE History students traded their textbooks for the real thing with an educational visit to Kenilworth Castle in Warwickshire. Bathed in glorious autumn sunshine, the ruins provided the perfect backdrop for students to visualize and consolidate their classroom learning.
The trip was specifically designed to support the "Historic Environment" module for their upcoming GCSE exams. Walking the grounds allowed the students to see first-hand how this remarkable site evolved over 900 years from a brutal medieval fortress into a lavish royal palace.
