SEND Team Shine at the Panathlon Xtend Final

1On Tuesday 9th June, our SEND team proudly represented the school at the Panathlon Xtend Final, competing against other schools across a range of inclusive sporting activities. Students spent seven minutes at each station, demonstrating determination, teamwork, resilience and excellent sportsmanship throughout the event.

The competition began with Bowling, where the team showed great composure under pressure. A standout moment came when Iman knocked down the final pin to secure an important 10 points for the team, while Heeba followed with another crucial final-pin strike to earn 20 points.

At the Basketball Shooting station, the team accumulated an impressive 124 points, with Husna leading the way as our highest scorer through consistent and accurate shooting.

In Fielding, the team scored 40 points in the one-motion challenge. Allena was our standout performer, demonstrating exceptional accuracy and contributing significantly to the team’s score.

The Target Throw event saw the team score 30 points, with Roberta achieving a fantastic full house, showcasing excellent precision and control.

The team then moved on to the combined Standing Long Jump and Speed Bounce station, recording a total standing jump distance of 332cm and achieving 78 points in the speed bounce challenge.

In Kurling, the team accumulated an impressive 102 points, averaging 7 points per throw. Husna achieved our highest individual score of 12 points, displaying excellent concentration and tactical awareness.

The final event was Boccia, where the team performed brilliantly. Our highest score was 15 points, with Iman successfully knocking down the target pillar on five occasions, demonstrating outstanding accuracy and consistency.

After all the scores were calculated and converted into overall event positions, we were delighted to learn that the team finished in 2nd place overall with 78 points. This is a fantastic achievement and a testament to the hard work, determination and teamwork shown by every student throughout the day.

Congratulations to all of our participants for representing the school so positively and for achieving such an excellent result.
