Copthall Alumnae Spotlight: Temi Fagbenle

We are incredibly proud to celebrate the phenomenal success of former Copthall student, Temi Fagbenle. Temi is a Nigerian-British professional basketball athlete — a true global sports star and role model. Temi, who joined Copthall at age 11 and studied with us from 2003 to 2008, is now a professional basketball player for the Golden State Valkyries in the WNBA, and a proud representative of Great Britain at the 2012 London Olympics.

Temi graduated from Harvard (Bachelors) and USC (Masters). Temi quotes: "my success in basketball helped open these doors for me.”

At Copthall, Temi’s talents were as wide-ranging as they were impressive — from Biology and English to Drama and PE. She embraced every opportunity with energy and curiosity, and recalls the joy of performing in our school production of High School Musical as ‘Zeke’ the basketballer — a perfect role for a future Olympian!

Temi’s journey from our classrooms to international arenas is a testament to her determination, talent, and the power of dreaming big. She continues to inspire the next generation, and we look forward to welcoming her back to Copthall to share her story with our students.
