Mathematics Team Victory!Posted on: 14/02/2019
A number of Year 8 girls took part in the Cyberfirst Girls Competition 2019 run by the National Cyber Security Centre. It was a very challenging series of problem solving tasks, using computer science and mathematics, set up to encourage and inspire the next generation of young women to consider computer science as an option with a view to a future career in cyber security.
In Copthall we had 10 teams all working independently on the week-long challenges and we are very proud of The Mathletes who were the top team in the school.
Copthall came 52nd out of 846 schools across the UK, putting us with the top 6% nationally of all the schools that took part. This includes some of the top schools in the country!
Well done to all those who took part but particularly to ‘The Mathletes’ - Mya G, Mahek, Gracia and Wassila who showed true determination throughout the competition!
