Year 13 Thorpe Park

Posted on: 03/04/2025

On Wednesday 2nd April we took 40 year 13 students to Thorpe Park to support their wellbeing ahead of their summer exams and to create lasting memories before they leave us. The students were exceptionally behaved throughout the day and had a great time because of this.

It was an early start, with students meeting us in school at 07:30 ready for a busy day ahead. The excitement carried through to the bus ride which was accompanied by rounds of karaoke and some students deciding to vlog their experience. We were the first trip group to arrive at the park and were swiftly through security before the students dispersed through the park when the rides opened.

It was a surprisingly busy day at the park, however, students were able to get on most of the rides they wanted to and the weather is excellent. Highlights include watching some of our students take on the heights of Hyperia which students described as both terrifying and brilliant in equal measures and students winning a massive koala on the games stands. It was great to capture glimpses of students' days as we bumped into them rushing between the rides. At the end of the day we managed to get a couple of group photos at the front of the park, which I hope the students can look back on fondly.

The bus journey home was significantly quieter with a group full of tired year 13s and teachers from a day packed with thrills!
