Welcome from the Headteacher

I am delighted to welcome you to Copthall School.

Our school is unstoppable in its pursuit of Excellent Education for All, which has been highlighted by Ofsted 2018. We have been recognised for the rapid transformation and excellent progress of students and I am pleased to inform you we have been awarded Good status. This recognition follows our most successful year of exam results; our A-Level results surpassed the National Average by nearly 7% and over 90% of our students secured their first choice University, with nearly 20% progressing onto prestigious Russell Group Universities. Our GCSE results were equally impressive as students received 80% A* - C or 9 – 4 grades, which overshadows the National Average by 12%. In addition, 30% of Copthall's students were awarded A*- A or 9-7 grades which puts them 10% above the National Average and 8% above the All Girl School National Average.  We also achieved a Progress 8 score of +0.81 which was a significant improvement on the previous year.

Our team of dedicated staff set high expectations for our students and create a passion for learning. We aim to provide a safe and nurturing environment to foster, encourage and celebrate every student’s talent; which is mirrored in our promise that every student will be supported to develop the skills and strategies needed to fulfil their potential.

Our long-standing vision; to empower and equip young women to exceed, to provide an inspiring education and to create a positive learning environment motivates all that we do. Beyond academic success, our students take part in an unrivalled series of enrichment opportunities, including residential trips, extra-curricular clubs and involvement in National enterprise competitions.

We are thrilled to announce our collaboration with Mill Hill Independent School and the wide range of joint opportunities for students and staff, including leadership, tutoring, philanthropy, extended projects and a variety of bespoke programmes. We will be working closely with colleagues at Mill Hill to ensure we are providing the best provision for both students and staff.

Our promise to you is that we will work in partnership to make sure your child is as successful as they can possibly be, and I hope our website provides an insight into our unique offer. Our extremely positive ethos is underpinned by our respectful, caring, hard-working and aspirational girls and on behalf of all students and staff; I am immensely proud of our school and I feel fortunate to be Headteacher.
