Copthall School’s 2016 GCSE Examination Successes!
We are delighted to announce a significant improvement in many of our GCSE results this year. The percentage of students achieving A* - C in both English and Maths has risen from 51% in 2015 to 58% in 2016.
This year, the Government has introduced a new accountability measure for all schools called Progress8 which reflects the progress made by students in their eight best subjects. Copthall’s Progress8 score is +0.33 which demonstrates that our students make good progress.
21% of all the grades awarded this year were A* - A and 43% were A* - B. In addition, 25% of our students achieved the prestigious English Baccalaureate qualification which requires them to achieve a grade C or above in English, Maths, Science, a Modern Foreign Language and either History or Geography.
A huge congratulations goes to all students on their success!
We would like to acknowledge all staff, parents and governors who have supported the students to achieve these successes which we feel demonstrate the significant improvements made since our recent Ofsted inspection.
