Copthall & Mill Hill Independent School Scholarship Programme

Copthall School and Mill Hill Independent School have collaborated to launch an exciting and enriching Scholarship Programme in September 2018

 Students will benefit from:

  • Attendance at workshops and events at the Mill Hill School Foundation
  • Termly meeting with form teacher to review progress and advise on choice of extra-curricular activities to stretch the Scholar
  • Termly meeting with senior STEM teacher to suggest extra STEM challenges
  • Annual meeting with careers advisor to discuss university and career choices
  • Annual meeting with Headteacher
  • Mentor from the Scholarship Team (SLT, alumnae or industry professionals)
  • Work on a year long STEM project
  • “Scholars challenges” to accomplish during their time at Copthall
  • Preparation for and entry to academic competitions
  • Scholars club to discuss current affairs, watch STEM podcasts and read STEM periodicals. Scholars to be given information about external STEM courses, workshops, websites
  • Guidance on reading materials to stretch Scholars
  • Annual visit to an educational or cultural establishment or museum
  • Bespoke annual Scholars’ workshop with external speaker
  • Guidance on aspirational reading material, both STEM and other
  • Opportunities to work with Scholars in other year groups

For older Scholars (from year 10) all the above plus:

  • Oxbridge programme including help with application and interview
  • Visits to Russell Group universities and Oxbridge
  • Workshops on writing CVs and personal statements
  • Two bespoke workshops per year
  • Attendance at Mill Hill School for career and academic workshops
  • Opportunity to be a Key Note Speaker at a school event
  • Tailored work experience (sixth form)
  • Career specific mentor (sixth form)
