Year 9 students took part in the Magistrates Mock Trial competition

Posted on: 04/05/2022

On Tuesday 26th April, a team of talented and dedicated year 9 students took part in the Magistrates Mock Trial competition.  This competition is run by Young Citizens, a UK charity which aims to enable and encourage young people across the UK to actively participate in, and make a positive difference to the societies in which they live.  As a result of Covid, the competition this year was online, rather than being in a magistrates court.  Eight schools were involved in the heat and our team were up against Alperton Community College in round 1, and City of London Academy in round 2.  Each round was overseen by a magistrate or barrister.  The students were fantastic and prosecuted and defended strongly.  Sadly we did not win the overall heat but each student should be proud of their hard work and excellent contributions to the team.
