What an amazing week of celebrations!

Posted on: 10/07/2017

Our first Teach Meet was a huge success, an idea that grew into something quite special and I hope all staff who attended left with at least one new T&L tip.  One of our Governors commented As I said, from a governor perspective it was very pleasing to see all the work and reflection that the individuals and groups had put into their action research and their presentations – not to mention the CPD journal which is very exciting”.  Thank you to everyone involved.

Sports Day was just outstanding! A significant amount of work clearly went into the day, the attention to detail and the obvious support of everyone involved was so lovely to see.  I have never seen such a slick operation, well done to the PE Team and everyone else who involved.

Likewise, the Year 6 Induction was a wonderful day. Meticulously organised, fun and engaging for our new students.  Families were very impressed; one student saw me, shook my hand and said she wants to start now! A real credit to the Year 6 Team and all those who supported.

The celebrations continue - On Wednesday night Julia Blackman won Secondary Governor of The Year Award at the Barnet Schools Awards Evening.  So deserving, Julia is a real advocate and supporter of our school and, I truly believe we have a phenomenal group of Governors whose dedication and commitment to the school is second to none. Iqra Shahzad also picked up an award for Inspirational Student of the Year! Iqra really is amazing, a positive role model for our school and a well-deserved award.

Further congratulations to Corrine Westwood and the girls in the choir who performed at Colindale’s Primary Schools International Fair yesterday.  Wendy Wayland Interim Deputy Headteacher for school said “The girls were an absolute credit to your school. Thank you!”

Next week we will continue the celebrations as we welcome Trevor Philips, broadcaster and journalist to officially open the 6th Form new build.
