Why choose to study Beauty?

The Beauty Industry is a growing area in the UK, and around the world. In fact, this is one of the only areas which have not been affected by the recession. This qualification is recognised internationally and will give the successful candidates the opportunity to work in the UK and abroad. On successful completion of this qualification they will be able to continue with their studies and choose a specialist area to work in.

This is an exciting vocational qualification which has been running at Copthall School since September 2010 but in 2017 this course will be changing to the following format.

Course outline:

During this course candidates are required to complete units in Principles and Practices for Beauty Therapists, Hair Removal Treatments, Facial and Skin Analysis, Manicure Treatments, Pedicure Treatments, Light cured Gel Polish, Lash and Brow Treatments, Make-up Services and Tanning Treatments.

Candidates will also be studying, in depth, Anatomy & Physiology, so that they understand all aspects of the body, how it functions, the importance of nutrition, as well as caring for the body both inside and out.

Centres work with local employers who will contribute to the knowledge and delivery of training.  Employers will provide demonstrations and talks on the industry and where possible work placements will also be provided by the employers.  This practically based training is ideal in preparation for gaining employment in the beauty therapy industry or onto further study.
